Edit Complainant Assignment on a Process

Once a Complainant is added to a process, under certain circumstances it is possible to subsequently edit the Complainant information or assignment data (including Subpoenas). Below are the steps to edit the assignment data.

Before you start:

  • The ability to edit Complainant data is based on the type and status of the process being edited and the user's role. If an edit is disallowed due to these conditions, the Edit Complainant Assignment button will not display or an error message will display upon use of the button.

  • Complainant assignment data can be edited on a process of any status.

  • A Subpoena for a Complainant can be issued only at the time the initiating process is being issued.

  • When a LEO is assigned as a Complainant, the LEO will be added as an Active State Witness with a Subpoena requirement determined by the LEO's county profile.

  • When adding a Subpoena for a Business Complainant, the Subpoena will be generated on the Contact name.

    1. Search for the process on which the Complainant assignment is to be edited.

    2. The PROCESS TAB VIEW of the process displays, defaulted to the SUMMARY tab. Click the COMPLAINANT tab.

    1. The COMPLAINANT tab displays. Click the Edit Complainant Assignment button.

    2. The COMPLAINANT ASSIGNMENT screen displays. These are fields available for edits:

      • If necessary, selector de-select the Complainant as a Witness.

      • If necessary, selector de-select the Complainant as a Victim and select the related Relationship to Defendant if necessary.
