The CASE SUMMARY TAB VIEW is the central repository for actions or information related to subsequent processes of an initiating process. Once an initiating process is issued, the status changes to Unserved or Served, making the process available for attachment of subsequent processes. Consequently, the default view of the process changes from the PROCESS TAB VIEW to the CASE SUMMARY TAB VIEW when retrieved from most searches.
The CASE SUMMARY TAB VIEW contains the following information:
Breadcrumb trail - A series of links to previously visited NCAWARE "pages" (screens). For more information, see Overview of Standard Functions.
Process information line - The County, File Number, Process Type, Status, and Paper/Verification sub-states (if applicable).
Conversion notification line - This line displays only if the original process was converted ("stubbed") from ACIS or Magistrate System. It displays the original source system of the process and an informational message based on the status. Here are the possible scenarios:
If the original process or OFA was created in ACIS and has an Unserved-Paper status, click here.
If original process was created in Magistrate System and has an Unserved-Paper status, click here.
Defendant information line - The True Name of the Defendant on the process (and for Mecklenburg County only, the In Jail indicator).
Precautionary/Notification line - This section displays any outstanding processes associated with the Defendant. Also, an indicator will display if the Defendant has associated LEO Precautionary or Notification flags. See View Person Notes for Help on this subject.

Specific case data is organized into "tabs." Each subsequent process is assigned its own unique tab where related information can be viewed, or a related action (add, edit, or delete of a subsequent process) can be taken. The tabs on the CASE SUMMARY TAB VIEW are:
Original Process - This tab is identical to the SUMMARY tab of the PROCESS TAB VIEW. It contains all fundamental information of the initiating process.
Note: The PROCESS TAB VIEW of the initiating process can be accessed from the Original Process tab by clicking the View Process button. The SUMMARY tab of the initiating process will display by default. |
Subpoena - Contains information related to any generated Subpoenas on the case. See View a Subpoena.
Release Orders - Contains information and actions related to the Release Order process.
Appearance Bonds - Contains information and actions related to the Appearance Bond process.
OFA - Contains information and actions related to the Order For Arrest (OFA) process.
Event History - Lists the Date/Time, details, and user involved for any add, edit, or delete of case information. This includes issuances of subsequent processes, edits of the initiating process and subsequent process information, and case related Defendant merges/unmerges.
Court Schedule History - Lists the Date/Time, details, and the user involved for court and trial information related to the case. This information is obtained by NCAWARE through an interface. Use of the Next arrow may be required to display this tab.
Note: Processes converted ("stubbed") from ACIS or Magistrate System may not display all fields required by NCAWARE. Any required fields unavailable during conversion will display as Unknown or Not Available, depending on the situation. For more Help on this subject, see Converted (Stubbed) Records. |
