Add a Magistrate Order

The following are the steps to add (pre-enter) a Magistrate Order to NCAWARE. Most of the functions are common to all processes (Warrants, Summons, Orders, and Citations). Click on the provided links for further details.

Before you start:

  • Only users with the proper rights can pre-enter a Magistrate Order.

  • Participants, Offenses, and Court Data are not required information when pre-entering a Magistrate Order.

  • Only the first four steps must be executed in order. Once a Temporary File Number (TMP) is established, specific process information may be entered in any order.

    1. From the MAIN MENU, click the Add a Process link.

    2. The ADD A PROCESS menu displays. Select the Magistrate Order radio button then select the Create A Process button.

    3. The OFFENSE DATE screen will display. Enter (or select) a value in the required Offense Date/Start Date of Offense field.  Enter (or select) a value in the End Date of Offense field, if necessary. After the Date value(s) are entered, click the Submit button.

    1. The Magistrate Order PROCESS TAB VIEW displays with an assigned Temporary File Number (TMP). The DEFENDANT tab will display by default.

    2. Add a Defendant to the process.

    3. Add Offenses to the process.

    4. Add a Complainant to the process.

    5. Add Witnesses to the process.

    6. Add Court Info to the process.

    7. General case information can now be reviewed on the SUMMARY tab. To add or change Summary information, click the Edit Summary button. See Edit Summary for Magistrate Order for additional Help.
