Statewide Process Search by File Number

To assist with the tracking and processing of Unserved (outstanding) processes, the Statewide Warrant Search application is provided. This application searches both NCAWARE and ACIS databases for Unserved processes and places the returns in a single screen. Details about a person or process are both easily accessible from the search results. Below are the steps to perform a Statewide Search for a process from the MAIN MENU of NCAWARE.

Before you start:

A Statewide Process Search will only return processes of these types with a status of Unserved.
A Statewide Process Search will return matches from only the NCAWARE and ACIS databases.
If a process exists in both the NCAWARE and ACIS databases, only the NCAWARE record will display from the search.

From the MAIN MENU of NCAWARE, click the Search by File Number link under Statewide Search - Outstanding Processes.
The STATEWIDE SEARCH BY FILE NUMBER screen displays. The following required search fields are available:
- County
- File Number

Enter the required County and File Number and click the Search button.

The CASE SUMMARY TAB VIEW (or ORDER FOR ARREST TAB VIEW, if an OFA) of the searched for File Number displays. If NCAWARE is implemented for your agency, all tabs and functions are accessible per normal User roles and rights limitations for cases maintained in NCAWARE.

Selection of the View Defendant button will display the PERSON TAB VIEW of the Defendant.

Note: If the case of the selected File Number is maintained in ACIS only, then case details will be view-only in NCAWARE. No edits to the data will be allowed from NCAWARE. For OFAs, the ORDER FOR ARREST tab of the CASE SUMMARY TAB VIEW will display.
