Statewide Person Search from Main Menu

To assist with the tracking and processing of Unserved (outstanding) processes, the Statewide Warrant Search application is provided. This application searches both NCAWARE and ACIS databases for Unserved processes and places the returns in a single screen. Details about a person or process are both easily accessible from the search results. Below are the steps to perform a Statewide Search for a person from the MAIN MENU of NCAWARE.

Before you start:

A Statewide Person Search will only return persons listed as Defendants on Unserved processes of these types.
A Statewide Person Search will return matches from both the NCAWARE and ACIS databases.
The Statewide Person Search utilizes Soundex search functions. For users unfamiliar with this type search, please review Soundex Searches before continuing.
If a person or process record exists in both NCAWARE and ACIS databases, only the NCAWARE record will display from the search.
If the same File Number has both an outstanding CR and CRS case associated, then only the CRS case will display in the search results.

From the MAIN MENU of NCAWARE, click the Search by Person link under Statewide Search - Outstanding Processes.
The STATEWIDE SEARCH by person (defendant) screen displays. The following search groupings/fields are available:

Name Search
- Search Level
- Last Name, First Name, Middle Name/Initial (These fields use Soundex)
- Race, Sex
- Date of Birth, Age, Exact Match

SSN Search

- SSN (searches only NCAWARE)

DMV Search

- DMV ID, DMV State

Address Search

- Street Number, Street Name
- City
- State
- ZIP Code

Display Options

- - Display Defendant Image

Notes:

Fields from differing search groupings can be entered as search criteria simultaneously. The system will conduct a search on each entered field.
Searches that will return more than 1000 records will not process. The system will ask for more search criteria to limit the returns.

The STATEWIDE SEARCH RESULTS screen displays, listing the returns from the search. Typical person and process data fields are displayed:

Defendant Name, Image, DOB, Race, Sex, DMV ID, Address, County/File Number, Height, Weight, Hair Color, SSN, Process Type, Offense(s)

If a Defendant Name link is clicked, the PERSON TAB VIEW of the Person record displays defaulted to the PERSON DEMOGRAPHICS tab. If NCAWARE is implemented for your agency, all PERSON TAB VIEW tabs and functions are accessible per normal User roles and rights limitations.

Note: If the selected Defendant (person) record is maintained in ACIS only, then record details will be view-only in NCAWARE. No edits to the data will be allowed from NCAWARE.

If a File Number link is clicked, the CASE SUMMARY TAB VIEW (or ORDER FOR ARREST TAB VIEW for OFAs) of the selected File Number displays. If NCAWARE is implemented for your agency, all tabs and functions are accessible per normal User roles and rights limitations for cases maintained in NCAWARE.

Note: If the case of the selected File Number is maintained in ACIS only, then case details will be view-only in NCAWARE. No edits to the data will be allowed from NCAWARE. For OFAs, the ORDER FOR ARREST tab of the CASE SUMMARY TAB VIEW will display.

If one or more checkboxes are selectedand the Generate Report button is clicked, the Outstanding Process Report for the selected records will display (Create Document button), or print (Print Direct button).

As a convenience, the Search Options menu is available containing the Domestic Violence, Victim's Rights, and Display Defendant Image checkboxes. These can be applied to the current search results to avoid having to return to the search screen.
