Print a Release Order

Once a Release Order has been issued on a case, it can then be printed. Before printing, the user can select the copy types needed (Original, Defendant, Court, Draft, and Other), the number of copies, and whether to send the print job directly to the printer (Print Direct), or display an electronic version of the document before printing (Create Document). Below are the steps.

Before you start:

  • A Release Order must have the status of Issued to print an Original, Defendant, Court, or Other copy.

  • A Draft copy can be printed for a Release Order that has a status of Incomplete or Complete.

  • The ability to print a specific copy type is also based on a user's role. Click on a copy type for details: Original, Defendant, Court, Draft, and Other.

  • If there are more than four (4) related cases attached to the Release Order, then a File Number Attachment sheet will automatically print in the selected copy types along with the Release Order.

  • The Lead Case will print as the primary file number and other related cases will print in the Related Case block regardless of the file number is used to print. If an OFA with related cases is attached to the Release Order, all of the related cases on the OFA will also print on the Release Order as related cases.

  • Release Orders issued on out-of-county processes will display in the following format when printed: " __________ County (issuing) for ___________ County (originating)." Click here for more details on out-of-county processes.

  • Editing official's names will display on the CONDITIONS OF RELEASE MODIFICATION form and in a case's EVENT HISTORY but will not replace the original issuing name on the front of the Release Order form or on any Additional Forms

    1. From any tab of an Issued RELEASE ORDER TAB VIEW, click the Print Process button.

Note: A Draft copy can be printed for a Release Order that has a status of Incomplete or Complete.

  1. The PROCESS PRINT screen displays showing the Release Order to be printed and any related standard forms and additional forms. The following fields are available:

Make changes to any defaulted Copy and other checkboxes (including the checkbox of any related forms to be printed), then click either the Print Direct button (to send the print job directly to the printer), or Create Document button (to view an electronic version of the document before printing).

The results are based on which print option (button) was selected:

Notes

  • When either the Print Direct and Create Document buttons are used, the electronic version of the print request will remain on the screen until it is manually closed.

  • When either is used, both the Print Direct and Create Document buttons will display as inactive until a change is made on the PRINT REQUEST screen, or until the user navigates away from the screen.

  • The Print Probation Violation Report button can only be used with either the OFA or the Release Order selected for printing, not both simultaneously.
