Edit General Citation Details

The citation tab of a Magistrate Order based on a General Citation is where the Citation Number, Traffic, Vehicle and other details specific to a Citation are stored. Also, the citation tab allows for the adding and editing of these details. Below are the steps to edit Citation details on a General Citation.

Before you start:

  • The ability to edit Details on a General Citation is based on a user's Role.

  • Citation details can be edited up to 8 hours after being issued (status = Served) by the issuing Magistrate, Proxies thereof, the LDA, or a Clerk.

  • Citation Number, License Plate Number and State are required for a General Citation to be issued.

  • In addition to the fields listed above, further fields are required if the Complainant agency is State Highway Patrol and for certain offenses. These fields are detailed in the steps below.

  1. After searching for and retrieving a General Citation, or adding a new General Citation, the PROCESS TAB VIEW of the Citation will display. Click on the CITATION tab.

Note:  If the process status is Served, the CASE SUMMARY TAB VIEW will instead display, defaulted to the ORIGINAL PROCESS tab. Click the View button from this tab. The PROCESS TAB VIEW of the Citation will then display.

  1. The CITATION tab displays with all previously entered Citation information. Click the Edit Citation Info button.

  2. The Citation Details screen displays with previously entered information. These are the available fields:
