When the user adds or edits the Indicated Speed of the Vehicle and the Offense Code Type has already been selected. |
|
The difference between the Indicated Speed of the Vehicle and the Posted Speed Limit must coincide with the proper Offense Code Type.
For example: If the Indicated Speed of the Vehicle is either more than 15 miles per hour than the speed limit established by law for the highway where the offense occurred or over 80 miles per hour, the Offense Code Type must be a Traffic or Misdemeanor offense code (currently AOC Offense Code 5450).
If the Indicated Speed of the Vehicle is 15 miles per hour or less than the posted speed and not over 80 miles per hour, the offense is an Infraction and the Infraction Offense Code must be selected (currently AOC Offense Code 4450) When the speeds entered do not match the offense code selected, the system will provide an ERROR Message stating: ERROR: The Indicated Speed of the Vehicle and the Posted Speed Limit entered do not match the Offense Code Type selected.
NOTE: Infraction Offense Codes configured with the Attribute HIGH SPEED EXEMPT INFRACTION are exempted from this rule. |
