Print an Appearance Bond

Once an Appearance Bond has been issued on a case, it can then be printed. Before printing, the user can select the copy types needed (Original, Defendant, Court, Draft, and Other), the number of copies, and whether to send the print job directly to the printer (Print Direct), or display an electronic version of the document before printing (Create Document). Below are the steps.

Before you start:

  • If the Release Condition from the originating Release Order is Unsecured, then an Appearance Bond is automatically created with the Defendant as the Bondsman and will print when the Release Order is printed. No manual print of the Appearance Bond is needed.

  • An Appearance Bond must have the status of Issued to print an Original or Other copy.

  • A Draft copy can be printed for an Appearance Bond that has a status of Incomplete.

  • The ability to print a specific copy type is also based on a user's role. Click on a copy type for details: Original, Draft, and Other.

  • If the Appearance Bond to be printed is a split bond, then separate Bonds will print for each Bondsman.

  • If there are more than four (4) related cases attached to the originating Release Order, then a File Number Attachment sheet will automatically print in the selected copy types along with the Appearance Bond.

  • If there are more than two (2) Accommodation Bondsmen on the Appearance Bond, then a Accommodation Bondsmen Attachment sheet (CR-201A) will automatically print in the selected copy types along with the Appearance Bond.

    1. From any tab of an Issued APPEARANCE BOND TAB VIEW, click the Print Process button.

Note: A Draft copy can be printed for an Appearance Bond that has a status of Incomplete.

  1. The PROCESS PRINT screen displays showing the Appearance Bond to be printed and any related forms. The following fields are available:

Make changes to any defaulted Copy and other checkboxes (including the checkbox of any related forms to be printed), then click either the Print Direct button (to send the print job directly to the printer), or Create Document button (to view an electronic version of the document before printing).

* * * * * * *

The results are based on which print option (button) was selected:

Notes

  • When either the Print Direct and Create Document buttons are used, the electronic version of the print request will remain on the screen until it is manually closed.

  • When either is used, both the Print Direct and Create Document buttons will display as inactive until a change is made on the PRINT REQUEST screen, or until the user navigates away from the screen.
