Add a Business

The following are the steps to add a new Business to the NCAWARE database from either the MAIN MENU, the COMPLAINANT, DEFENDANT, or WITNESS tabs of a process, or as a Person Employer.

Before you start:

  • To keep duplicate entries to a minimum, NCAWARE will perform a secondary search upon submission of your Business Add. Any possible matches will be displayed for selection.

  • A Business can be added without being associated to a process via the MAIN MENU.

  • Because it is possible to add a Business as a participant on a process as well as an Employer on a Person record, the contact information for each instance is kept separate (see example).


    1. Once an unsuccessful search is encountered while entering a Business as a participant, Person Employer, or from the MAIN MENU, it will be necessary to add a new Business record. From the BUSINESS SEARCH RESULTS screen, click the Add button.

    2. The BUSINESS DETAILS screen displays. The following fields are available:

Enter the required and relevant fields, then click the Add button.

    1. The system may return a list of records that match your entry. If a return list displays, perform one of following options. Otherwise, skip to Step #4:

      1. Select the radio button a Business from the list of possible matches and click the Select button.

      2. Continue to use your entry by clicking the Add Business as Entered button.

    2. The BUSINESS DETAILS screen will display with the entered or selected record.

      • For a process Participant, click the Select as Complainant (or Defendant or Witness) button.

      • For a person Employer, click the Select as Employer button.

      • If adding from the MAIN MENU, click the Add button.

The Business is now added to the NCAWARE database.
