Create an Involuntary Commitment

The following are the steps to create (and print) an Involuntary Commitment in NCAWARE. Since no data from an Involuntary Commitment is saved, this process functions differently than initiating and subsequent processes in NCAWARE.

Before you start:

  • Only users with the proper rights can create and print an Involuntary Commitment.

  • This process exists to print only. No data entered on an Involuntary Commitment is saved to the database.

    1. From the MAIN MENU, click the Add a Process link.

    2. The ADD A PROCESS menu displays. Select the Involuntary Commitment radio button then select the Create A Process button.

    3. The Involuntary Commitment screen displays with the following available fields:

Note: Required fields are marked with an "
      *"

Enter all required and relevant fields. Once completed, click either the Print Direct button (to send the process directly to the printer) or Create Document button (to view an electronic copy of the process before printing).

If Print Direct is selected, the Commitment will print. If Create Document was selected, review the electronic version:

Notes

  • When either the Print Direct and Create Document buttons are used, the electronic version of the print request will remain on the screen until it is manually closed.

  • When either is used, both the Print Direct and Create Document buttons will display as inactive until a change is made on the PRINT REQUEST screen, or until the user navigates away from the screen.
