Criminal Discovery Upload |
Criminal Discovery Upload allows law enforcement agencies (LEA) to submit discovery securely and electronically to a district attorney’s (DA) office.
Navigation:From the Applications Menu, select Criminal Discovery.
In the Upload To list box, click the down arrow, and select a county. (required)
Note: Only counties within districts of district attorneys' offices' that accept uploaded files via Criminal Discovery Upload are included in the drop down list. |
Enter CR/CRS Case Number. (optional if an OCA Number is entered) If a CR/CRS Case Number is entered, a CR/CRS Case County must be selected. Go to Step 3. If a CR/CRS Number is not entered, an OCA number must be entered. Go to Step 4.
Note: CR/CRS Case Number has a 13 character format. Specifically, ccyyxxx######, where 'cc' is the century in the case year, 'yy' is the year, 'xxx' is the court type (i.e. CR or CRS), and '######' is the sequence number (e.g. 10CR059595). |
From the CR/CRS Case County list box, select the county to be associated with the CR/CRS Case Number.
Enter an OCA Number. (optional if a CR/CRS Case Number is entered)
Note: "OCA Number" can be up to 30 characters long. |
Enter the Defendant's Last Name. (required)
Note: Defendant's Last Name can be up to 50 characters long. |
Enter the Defendant's First Name. (required)
Note: Defendant's First Name can be up to 50 characters long. |
Enter the Defendant's Middle Name. (optional)
Note: Defendant's Middle Name can be up to 50 characters. |
In the Defendant's Suffix list box, click the down arrow, and select a suffix. (optional)
Enter Co-Defendant Name(s). (optional)
Note: Please enter names in the following format: last name, first name, middle name, and suffix. Separate multiple defendant names with a semi-colon (;). |
Click in the Audio and/or video available but not Uploaded Checkbox. (optional)
Note: Select this option to indicate that the district attorney should expect separate delivery of audio and/or video. |
Enter comments in the Audio and/or video available but not Uploaded Comments Box. (optional)
Note: The comments field is editable when the Audio and/or video available but not uploaded checkbox is checked. |
To include a file or files for upload:
Under the Document Details section of the upload screen, locate the file(s) to be uploaded from the file tree on the left side of the screen.
Double click the file's name or it's icon. An icon representing the file will appear in the upload queue to the right of the file tree. Alternatively, left click the file's name or it's icon and, while continuing to hold down the left mouse button, drag it to the upload queue.
To add additional files, repeat steps a and b. When including multiple files for upload, each file name must be unique.
Note: Multiple files can be selected together from the file tree and added to the upload queue at once. If the files to be added are not listed sequentially in the file tree, hold down the ctrl key while left clicking the files' names or icons. If the files to be added are listed sequentially in the file tree, left click the file name or icon of the first file to be added and, while holding down the shift key, left click the last file to be included. The selected files will be highlighted. With the cursor hovered over one of the selected files, left click and drag the highlighted files to the upload queue. Icons representing the selected files will appear in the upload queue. |
Note: The cumulative file size of all files added to the upload queue must not exceed 1 GB. The lower right corner of the upload queue displays the total number of files contained in it and their cumulative file size. |
Note: To delete a file from the upload queue, either: Left click the red x in the upper right corner of the file's icon or Left click the file's icon and press the delete key.
To delete multiple files from the upload queue, either: While holding down the ctrl key, left click the icons of the files to be deleted and press the delete key or While holding down the shift key, left click the icon of the first file to be deleted followed by the last file to be deleted and press the delete key. |
Note: The file name of files added to the upload queue should not include the following characters: tilde (~) number sign (#) percent (%) ampersand (&) asterisk (*) braces ({ }) backslash (\) colon (:) angle brackets (< >) question mark (?) slash (/) pipe (|) quotation mark (") |
To enter a file's page number and/or document category information:
Left click the pencil and paper image () in the lower left corner of the icon representing the file in the upload queue. A pop-up titled "Enter Document Information" is displayed.
Enter a Title. (optional)
Enter a Page Number Start (optional) and a Page Number End (optional).
In the Select Document Category list box, click the down arrow, and select a document category.
Note: The default document category is "Law Enforcement." |
Click the button labeled "OK".
Click the Upload button to submit files.
