When adding or editing a LEO

Duplicate LEOs cannot be created. Duplicate matching criteria is: same Last Name (exact match), First Initial, Middle Initial, Officer ID Number and Agency.

LEO records marked “Inactive” will continue to be used by the system when automatically searching for duplicate (“forced matched”) records during the adding/editing of LEOs:

  • When a forced match occurs and a user selects the matched record for use as a process participant (Complainant, Witness), or in other capacities (Serving Officer, Chemical Analyst, PT Action By), the LEO record is automatically re-activated (the Inactive status goes to Active).

  • If the LEO Record is being added directly from Main Menu/Master Name and an Inactive LEO record triggers a forced match, display this message: “Warning: LEO already exists but is Inactive. Set the LEO Record Status to Active to find this LEO in future LEO searches.”
