The LEO’s Agency cannot be changed. |

When adding an officer assigned to SHP agency |
|
The system shall validate the officer number in the roster file (VSAM File).If the officer number is not found, display: Error Message: Officer Number does not exist for the SHP Agency. |

When adding or editing a LEO |
|
Duplicate LEOs cannot be created. Duplicate matching criteria is: same Last Name (exact match), First Initial, Middle Initial, Officer ID Number and Agency.
LEO records marked “Inactive” will continue to be used by the system when automatically searching for duplicate (“forced matched”) records during the adding/editing of LEOs:

When deleting a LEO |

A LEO can only be deleted if they are NOT a user and are not associated with any processes. |

When converting a LEO record from ACIS or MagSys |

If the Officer Name on a converted process is an exact match with an existing officer name within the same agency, the conversion program should link the process to the existing matched LEO record and will NOT create a new LEO record in NCAWARE LEO Table

Only LEO search results obtained via the Main Menu path of Master Lists/Law Enforcement Officers will display the Active/Inactive Toggle button.

When searching for a LEO |

Only LEO records with a LEO Record Status of Active return unless the user opts to include Inactive records in the search.

If an Inactive user is selected for use (i.e. as a process participant) from the search results, then the LEO record is automatically re-activated (the Inactive status goes to Active).
